Thomas Pickett (Chairman)
Tom Pickett holds a Law Degree from Bond University, along with a Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance and Investment. Mr Pickett has experience in a range of sectors including mining exploration, law, tourism and hotels, having held executive appointments in these areas for both ASX listed and private companies. Mr Pickett is currently the Executive Chairman of Cannindah Resources and has held numerous board positions on other ASX listed companies over the past 15 years. His experience in the management of exploration activity across a number of projects in North Queensland for both gold and copper is a valuable asset to Cannindah Resources Limited.
Mr Pickett has been involved in many transactions that have transformed the operations of ASX listed companies into new areas. Recently, he was a Non-Executive Director of Discovery Resources Limited which is now known as Aquis Entertainment Limited. Mr Pickett was instrumental in the completion of this transaction from Discovery Resources Limited’s perspective, and stepped off the board of what is now an operational entertainment and casino company at the completion of the transaction. Mr Pickett, until recently, also held a Non-Executive Directorship with Red Gum Resources Limited which transitioned into MCS Services Limited, a significant security services provider company. Mr Pickett’s experience in numerous areas of business and transactions with ASX listed entities will assist Canindah Resources Limited in its stated intention of becoming a more diversified company moving forward.
Laurie Johnson (Non-Executive Director)
Mr Johnson is a geologist with more than 45 years of experience in exploration, development and mining throughout Australia and overseas, particularly the Pacific Rim. Mr Johnson has extensive experience in the ASX-listed junior resource sector with previous roles including Managing Director and Chairman of City Resources in the late 1980s and Managing Director of Monto Minerals from 1995 to 2003. Mr Johnson was involved in the discovery and development of Red Dome and Selwyn gold-copper mines in North Queensland
John Hamilton (Non-Executive Director)
Mr Hamilton is an experienced finance and investment executive who has been running a private investment company for the last 24 years. Mr Hamilton is also experienced in various forms of transport and logistics, having operated transport companies which he later sold to a large transport, storage and infrastructure group. Mr Hamilton’s experience in securities, financial transactions and corporate management complements the board. Mr Hamilton is also a major shareholder in Cannindah Resources, having recently acquired 9.57% of the company’s shares.
Geoff Missen, FCA GAICD (Non-Executive Director)
Mr Missen is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, with over 25 years in public practice. He is an active board member, serving on a number of boards in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. He is on the board of the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology, which is the peak industry body for agricultural and natural resource management professionals. He is a partner of The MBA Partnership Pty Ltd, a Chartered Accounting and Wealth Management business with offices in Southport, Queensland and Tweed Heads, New South Wales.
